Chronology of cameras Phot-Office
The membership of this camera to the Goldstein mark does not continue by an inscription somewhere on the camera, but by resemblances:
- the general form and stampings of metal are similar to those of Monococ or Week-end metal, for example
- the button in advance of film is identical to that which one finds on the cameras named above
- the decorative plate which surrounds the shutter release is the same one as on Goldy
Thus no doubt.
What is more doubtful, it is the exact name of this model. Is it of the “Phot-office” or the “box II” or the “Phot-office box II”? This camera does not appear in the catalogs and could thus be a promotional series like the “ CIERPA”, but in this case, Phot-Office must correspond to a trade mark. “II” lets think that there was a “I”. Did somebody already see it ?
